Retro Inn At Mesa Verde - Cortez

The Pac-Man room was an absolute winner! Super spacious, comfy beds, and a convenient grill outside. Just a little bummed about breakfast options being so basic 🎉

Perfect and cool hotel in a well kept area very close to restaurants centers and shopping centers of Cortez and Mesa Verde National Park. Accommodating staff of the venue. Central heating, multi-channel TV and a microwave oven in the room and the comfortable bed. Quick breakfasts with fruit, hard boiled eggs and also assorted bagels. What a fun stay, nothing to complain about.

Beds were very uncomfortable.

The movie-themed room gave us a nostalgic vibe, made our stay enjoyable.

The walls were notably thin, as we could hear conversations from neighboring rooms clearly.

The rooms were well-maintained and newly renovated with very comfy beds, you feel like home. The hotel had a great and convenient location in the park area. Plus, it was close enough to center of Cortez and Mesa Verde, Mesa Verde NP, Valley of the Gods, Mexican Hat rock, and restaurants and stores.

Choose a themed room for a nostalgic experience. The Pac-Man room was a highlight with spaciousness and charm.

The location was very convenient with easy access to Mesa Verde.

Parking was a bit problematic as we had to find spaces that were not directly close to our room. The room was filled with a very strong scent of cleaner, made it uncomfortable. We had to keep the windows open all night. The breakfast offerings were disappointing, with only store-bought options that felt very lacking.

All the staff members are accommodating and pleasant.

I had a quick breakfast and it had variety of food.

great stay with retro charm

The unique decor in the King Room created an immersive nostalgic atmosphere that we enjoyed throughout our two-night stay. The continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise, especially the fresh fruit and the availability of delicious burritos and tamales. We also loved the mountain view from the grassy area, made for a lovely spot to relax after exploring the surrounding attractions.

This is a stylish and fairly clean property with great location and cleanliness.

Quirky decor that transported us back to the '50s. Located conveniently close to Mesa Verde, the grassy area with picnic tables was a lovely spot to relax. The breakfast featured great coffee and fresh baked goods. Parking options were a bit limited, and accessing our room required navigating through the hotel with some distance involved.

It was too noisy, the fridge & the tv didn't work. Although, it's named the American Garden Inn, every cup, towel, sign & pamphlet says Budget Lodge. Which ironically would be a perfect name for the American Garden Inn.
